Introducing the Trada App!!

I remember a time when you had to go to art galleries and museums to see great art and to even discover art was usually through print media. Things have vastly changed in the ways of the world, art and now the technology we have at our fingertips. The entire landscape of things and the way we see and discover them has changed forever. The ability to see, search, and discover anything and everything you wish has opened the door for endless amounts of information to be shared.

The world of smart phones and tablets have opened up ways for us as artists and businesses, and lovers of art to see and discover and share art all over the world. The modern day artist can network like never before and market themselves as well. Developing the right app with the right functionality is key to its success and can be a really great tool to help the art world around you and as you the consumer to have a tool art your grasp to navigate the things you want and need out of art. We at Trada are admittedly late to the app game, but for just reason. We have been developing and gathering data for our app for the last two and a half years to perfect and bring everything Trada to your fingertips with soft sophistication and easy navigation to give you the ultimate Trada feel in an app. Introducing, Trada the app.

The Trada app features an online picture gallery, "pic flip" and will be updated monthly with a taste of some of the pieces we are showing. The app will have an artist resource connecting local artists together allowing for networking due to geographic information, a list of galleries that you can check out as well as google map pairing which allows to make "art trips" and places of interest instantly pinned in each place you go. We will be featuring an online store showcasing all our products so that you can have them shipped to your door anywhere in the world while helping a local family owned store. We will have a color wheel feature allowing you to see what colors might look good and how to mix them as well as a pantone color match so you can have the right paint for your masterpiece. In addition to all of those things, we will also have our blog available from the app as well as our podcast so that you can stayed tuned to all the latest things Trada. We are excited to take this journey with you and are excited with this launch. We will be updated and adding features as we develop the app and continue to bring you the best in all things art. You are art, we love art, lets be art together. Lets be Trada.

How creatively can you recycle? Do you have what it takes to get your scrap on? Art and steel collide in harmony.

Trada Art Studios, and Rykr Steel are working together on a community project to serve the environment and entertain the community, as well as provide some creative and useful art. A contest will be held for the most creative lawn furniture/art made from scrap steel provided by Rykr Steels recycling lot. Here are the details of the contest:
The purpose of the contest is to make steel or metal lawn furniture and or art that can be used in a safe and practical matter. Rykr Steel noticed that the community was dropping off a lot of bigger steel and metal items at the recycling lot we opened last month. All of us at Trada Art studios walked thru the recycling lot and fabricated a complete lawn furniture set out of old gearboxes and steel frames. We thought this was a great way to recycle and reuse some of these items. By holding a contest we can spread the word and promote this kind of innovative recycling and create useful lawn equipment just in time for summer.

The recycling contest will begin on April 9th and go through the 23rd. We ask that you be at least 18 years old to enter on your own, unless signed up with a parent or guardian. You can work in teams of up to 4. Ryker steel will also provide a cutting torch, angle grinder, and mig welder at the recycling yard. You can also use/bring your own tools if desired. During this time the recycling yard will remain open 24 hours to the contest participants. The voting will be conducted on Sunday, April 24th.

Sunday, April 24th voting will be held and your pieces must be here at Trada Art Studios by Noon. The judging will be held by the community. Each visitor will be given a ballot to turn in when they leave. Any registered team member cannot vote. We will announce the winner Monday via phone call and the winner’s name and art pieces will be displayed on the websites of Ryker Steel and Trada Art Studios. Rykr Steel is giving away an all-inclusive 2 night stay at Turtle Lake Hotel and Casino. Food and Drink included. Visit them at their RYKR Steel page and their Facebook page for more details and great news about US steel!

How do they price art?

citation
Hey everyone! Over the years I've been asked many times, "how do they price their works"? A lot of people new to collecting art can find it hard to believe the prices of pieces from different artists, and how they come to those numbers. Why is one artists little painting worth more than another artists sculpture?, or why is a charcoal drawing priced higher than a big oil painting?

A lot of collectible art is priced for many different reasons, and one of these is who the artist is. If the artist is famous, obviously their art is in demand purely for the namesake and popularity of the artist, which in turn makes it collectible. If an artist has been shown in several major galleries their works will be more popular due to the exposure they have had to the art world. One other way an art piece can be valued more than maybe a larger or more extravagant piece is due to the artist being deceased. When a popular artist passes away, most if not all of their art pieces become instantly collectable, and the little doodles and sketches never before seen can become worth a lot of money due to all the above circumstances. Art can be priced due to how long the artist took to complete it as well as what was used to create the piece. We at Trada will always explain why any of our pieces are priced they way they are, and we have been in the business of high end collectable art for a long time. When you come to Trada Art Studios, you can always count on quality and professional curators who will make sure your happy with your investment.

March is Red Cross month!!

March is Red Cross month, and us at Trada Art Studios have a lot of respect for everyone helping the Red Cross to do what they do, and to show our support we'd like to explain a little bit about what Red Cross does. The American Red Cross exists to provide compassionate care to those in need. Their network of generous donors, volunteers and employees share a mission of preventing and relieving suffering, here at home and around the world, through five key service areas.

The Red Cross responds to disasters in the United States every year, ranging from home fires that affect a single family to hurricanes that affect tens of thousands, to earthquakes that impact millions. In these events, the Red Cross provides shelter, food, health and mental health services to help families and entire communities get back on their feet. The Red Cross helps military members, veterans and their families prepare for, cope with, and respond to the challenges of military service. Your donations of blood are what make the American Red Cross the largest single supplier of blood and blood products in the U.S. Each year, nearly 4 million people donate blood through the Red Cross, helping to provide more than 40% of America’s blood supply. The Red Cross is the nation’s leading provider of health and safety courses, such as CPR, First Aid and Lifeguard training. Each year, more than 9 million Americans participate in our training programs, including first responders, educators, babysitters, and people who want to be prepared to help others in an emergency. The American Red Cross is part of the world’s largest humanitarian network with 13 million volunteers in 187 countries. Working together, we help respond to disasters, build safer communities, and teach the rules of war. Each year, we reach an average of more than 100 million people across the globe. Please visit http://www.redcross.org/ to learn more about how you can help.

To further help support the Red Cross we at Trada Art Studios will be donating ten percent of sales on anything in our studio or store with red on it. The sales will include red oil paints, acrylic paints, artist grade aerosol paints, colored pencils, pastels and more! Trada cares a great deal about what the Red Cross does. So many people out there have been left displaced from natural disasters and accidents, and groups like the Red Cross truly save lives. We at Trada care about all people as equal human beings and no one should have to go through it alone. This month only, we will be showcasing works from renowned artists with each piece being inspired by the Red Cross, as well as all the profits of sale going 100 percent to the Red Cross to help out wherever they need it. We appreciate your business, and will continue to inspire you to your fullest. Thank you for being with us, and follow this artistic journey with us for the years to come. This is OUR WORLD.

This months artist in the Nomad Gallery is David Choe!

Hanging all month in the Nomad Gallery we are excited to showcase the new works of Los Angeles artist David Choe!

David Choe is the most confrontational artist in the already aggressive world of urban art. He paints delicate kaleidoscopic pictures, sometimes even in pastel watercolors, that usually revel in aggression and sexual violence. Not only is he one of the first street artists to forgo traditional graffiti writing for narrative murals, he is one of a select band of creatives who spit in the face of political correctness, only to be lauded by the very individuals they so deride. Talent, intelligence and humor can do stuff like that. However, it's not simply an eloquently expressed state of disappointment that gathers David's manifold admirers; it is the corresponding celebration of love and life that runs parallel in his paintings. In our modern world talk is cheaper than ever; outrage and compassion in particular seem to be available on a permanent "buy one, get one free" basis. How refreshing to find these emotions hand-crafted like the finest luxury goods.
